We always need new clients.  We always need new ideas.  We always need to get ourselves out there so that we can get in clients that would make our business thrive.  Business is hard especially for the introverted business owner who actually does not know how to market and how to network his business.

To those who are unsure of the way that his business should work, to those who do not have the guts to start a business and try to keep on getting new clients, to those who just want to get on with their business and yet do not know the first thing about networking, then the following tips are for you.

Be ready for anything

The best way to keep your business on track of every potential client is to be prepared for anything.  Business owners should always be prepared to answer all of the questions that a client would have,

Be prepared into what you need to do. Do you know what an elevator pitch is?  An elevator pitch is a 30 second pitch detailing everything that you can detail about the business. It answers the following questions:

  • Who are you?
  • What do you do?
  • What is your market?
  • What do you do with the market?
  • What is your product?
  • How can you make a potential client’s life better?

The answer to these questions only require 30 seconds and frankly that is all the attention that you would get from clients and after that they would drift away.

Be friendly with the clients

To network means to build a relationship with the clients that would last long.  Be friendly and always listen.  Create a conversation and not just a one sided affair where you talk and the client would pretend to be listening.  Make your life easy with some conversation starters that are already available.  Ensure that you have what it takes to make the clients want more of you. Never talk down to your clients, they are the bread and butter of your business.

Know When to Ask the Right Questions

You should know when to ask the right questions and know when to get into a conversation with the client.  When you ask questions, you get to know the clients and their needs so you can provide an insight that they may not find on other businesses.  Take the risk, ask your client, there is nothing to lose after all.

Share your passion at the right time

You should know how to share your passion.  You would not start a business that you are not passionate in. Know when you need to capture people’s attention and know when to keep quiet.  You should always be ready to adjust your business with the demands of the market

Professional Tip: Follow Up On Your Clients

Clients are sometimes like women that you need to woo.  Make them feel that they are important. Like the women in your life, or the men, they need love and attention and sometimes, they just need a little follow up for them to sign the deal of a lifetime.

How do you keep your market?   How do you get new clients?  Please share and we at Aston social would really love hearing what you think.
