4 Ways To De-Stress When Life Gets In The Way

Life has become so stressful lately.  With the growth of a lot of social issues, we find ourselves always looking for ways to unwind over the weekend.  This is easier said than done because whether we admit it or not, we are even willing to go beyond the hours of our work and take home some of the work that we need to finish for the weekend.

That is incorrect.  We should always find time for ourselves. We should always de-stress and take the load off of our shoulders.  Some people can do it easy but there are those of us who struggle into getting their minds off work.

With that in mind, there are four ways that one person can unwind and these four ways have been proven for the longest time.

Get those happy hormones

Most people have a tendency to forget that the best way to remove their selves from stress is to get the happy hormones that the body releases during exercise.

This way of de-stressing should be done not only during the weekdays but also during the weekends.  Create a schedule that you know you will follow.  Get yourself off your exercise-lazy body and make yourself actually exercise.

The beginning will be the hardest but after some time your body will be the one asking for some me time.  The greatest part is that you do not need to spend money on this one because you only need to get your running shoes and start sweating off the stress.

Grab some coffee and chat with a friend

The best way to remove stress is to share your problems to someone else.  Someone you can trust and someone you know you can lean on.  There is no such thing as a problem that cannot be fixed by coffee.

Ask a friend out. Grab some coffee.  Get ready to share your thoughts and insights.  Make yourself be heard.  The best therapy is telling a friend about the things that you cannot handle.  You will be surprised how de-stressing this can be.

Spend time off work

You may be stressed out because you are spending all of your time with work.  Remove this mindset and get your mind off of the problems that you encounter at work.  Be ready to laugh and cry about something that is not related to the four corners of your work station.  

Maybe start your own garden or enroll in a spin class. Try out painting or hiking.  Actually dedicate time that you will no longer need to think about the things that you need to do at work.  

Unplug and Remove all Work Noise

People have a tendency to say that they cannot stop thinking about work when in reality, it is really because they are always on their work mode.  

Unplug your computers.  Turn off your internet connection.  Do everything that you can to prevent getting worked up on work.  When you arrive home, stop checking your emails.  Turn off your work phone.  Unless you are a doctor, there is no work emergency that can stop you from enjoying your weekend.

Spend Money for Yourself

The first thing that we learned from Aston Social is that we need to earn money so we can pay ourselves first.  People often forget that they are not working just so they can work some more. We are working because we want to live our lives to the fullest.   There is no sense in spending time on work if you are not spending your myself on yourself.  So, you better check yourself out and make sure that you treat yourself every once in a while.
